Hey did you hear.... ...that our Varsity Baseball team has won their first  ever Baseball Championship Monday night? As in, they beat Pleasantview 14 - 0. Which is awesome and wonderful and so much fun. What a great game!  MVP was Parker Applegate All-Tournament was Judson Bjornstad, Caden Davenport, and Hunter Althaus. What an excellent way to end the Davenport and Althaus student career here at FRCS. We're proud of you all! And Just Like That... ...another year is done. If we were to measure our lives like chapters in a book, I guess we could say another chapter has ended. For some, this was the very last chapter of their high school career. For others, you have a little further to go, and still others, mom and dad, breathe a sigh of relief because it's not yet your turn to watch them leave the nest. So enjoy every moment God has gifted you with. These are precious moments indeed. I've said it before. This time of year is always hard for me. It's exciting to watch the...

Baseball 5/12, home, 5:00 pm End of the Year I've been saying the same thing for a few weeks, but yea, we're down to single digits before we officially begin summer vacation. That's if you're not a Senior. That particular group of students have been very eager to tell me repeatedly  that 'today is my last day' or 'this is the last time you'll see me, Mrs. Stephan,' or my particular favorite, 'you're going to miss me aren't you' which they very well know that yes, I'm going to miss them. Terribly. As in really really bad. I think they like to see me cry. Hmm. But the good news is, I have the rest of the students for another couple of days. And boy are those days full of fun things like awards ceremonies, exams, exam passes if they got one, and lots of good things. Things that won't be repeated until next year.  The gist of the whole thing is you're almost done with this school year. So finish strong. Get all the things done...

This is the part of the year when everything seems to speed up to warp speed. As in, the weeks are so full that you simply cannot fit anything else into them. Mother's Day? I'm just going to take a chance and say that what most moms want for Mother's Day is another day between Saturday and Sunday. That'd be great. But probably not going to happen. If I put that in my empty promises agenda and ran for President, would you vote for me? One thing we definitely want to do is thank each and every one of you who participated in this year's Walkathon...

You have to deal with games, practices, dinners, family situations, traffic, and well, just life in general. And we know that things can get pretty hectic. Sometimes even pull your hair out hectic. (I do not recommend this strategy for bald people. Actually I don't recommend it at all. It's rather painful.) So to help us all out - you, your students, the kitchen staff, me...all of us... - I highly recommend setting an alarm or reminder on your phone to put lunches in every week before Sunday night at 11:59. Yes. I sai...

Cross Country 8/16 - MS & Varsity, Siegel High, Away, 6:00  Golf 8/18 - Varsity, Merrol Hyde, Away, 3:30 Volleyball 8/18 - Varsity, Lancaster, Home, 5:00 Patience...patience...patience I don't know if you noticed it or not, but it seems like this past summer just sped by like it was on two wheels. It felt like it barely even started before it was already over. But, no use crying over the inevitable. School had to restart so right now seems like as good a time as any. So welcome back to the returning students - we missed you. School just isn't the same when y'all aren't here. And welcome to the new students - we cannot wait to make your acquaintance and get to know you better. I hope your week - and your student's week - was excellent. If it wasn't, well, I hope it was mostly good. Of course, there were some kinks along the way and that elementary secretary seemed a little scratchy at times (I'm so very sorry. I hate being scratchy and I am determined t...

Voucher Time 5/15 12:00 noon No, it is not Thursday. No I have not lost my mind (fooled you!), and no. I'm not trying to rush things. Just wanted to send out this week's Parent Page today (Wednesday) to give everyone a quick reminder that... Tomorrow is the day the EFS applications roll-out. 12:00 noon is the time, so please, have all your documents uploaded and stored on your computer for ease of access because as soon as the clock tolls 12, things may get congested and a little bit laggish. Good luck and we wish you the best.  Oh yea. Here's the link. So Many Things, 5/17-5/23 I apologize in advance for the length of this week's Parent Page. It's a whopper but I'm positive you want to know all the things so I'll try my hardest to use bullet points to help navigate upcoming activities. 5/17 - MS Awards, 6:00 pm church auditorium 5/19 - 6th Grade Banquet & Graduation, 6:00 5/20 - K5 Play, Graduation, and Elementary Awards (1st-5th grades), 6:00 church ...
