Patience...patience...patience
The year is off to a great start! I didn't see very many wet eyes Monday morning, I didn't hear screaming and gnashing of teeth (yes, I'm talking about parents), and I didn't have a bunch of kiddos in my office asking for medicine at 8:05. I'd say that was a win win and another win for the start of a new school year! But, as with anything new, it can take just a little bit to settle into a routine. And when settling into a new year and routine, we often find things that work and, well, other things that don't.
So thank you for a wonderful first week, and thank you for your patience with everything - and everybody - as we put our noses to the grindstone and work hard to make this year excellent for everyone.
It's going to be an awesome year!
Smart Cards Are Here
Smart Cards are ready and available in the Elementary Office. If you haven't picked yours up yet, please stop by and see me. I can set you up. (I know a guy).
Not sure what Smart Cards are used for? So glad you asked. Every smart card sale goes toward the FRCS teacher fund (presided over by the illustrious PTF). When a teacher finds an item - or items - they'd like for their classroom, they ask the PTF if they can help them get it. It's really a great way for teachers to get those little extras that make their classrooms fun and exciting for their students for years to come. In the past, funds have been used for things like, books, preschool toys, special craft supplies, and more than I can put in the parent page.
Still not sure if smart cards are right for you? Come by the office and I can let you look over a card. It really is an easy peasy way to help teachers make their classes special.
*Smart Card sales end August 30th*
Forms
Every year, we have to have new forms turned into the office. These forms tell us who can pick up Little Susie (I kind of feel like there's a song here) and if Little Johnny can have ibuprofen or if Tiny Tim has a peanut allergy and has an EpiPen.
Of course, you want the best for your children. So do we. So please, if you haven't filled out those forms online, we really need you to do so as soon as possible.
You can access all the forms you need on Renweb through your Family Portal. Please be aware that you must click SAVE at the bottom when you're finished or the form will not save the information you just put in there. And then you'll get an email from me. Which you don't want to receive and I don't want to send. Trust me.
Anyway. If you could get those finished and saved as soon as possible, we'd appreciate it.
And by the way...if your Preschooler through 6th grader would like to receive a singing Birthday Buddy this year, I have those forms here in my office. Only $15! I mean, where else can you get a singing 'telegram' for only $15?! (Please turn cash or check in with form to expedite the process. Aka, I don't have to call you.) ;^)
Information Is Good
We know that sometimes life throws you - and us - a curve ball that really isn't a blessing. Things happen that are out of your control and custody issues arise. While it's not something anybody looks forward to, it is sometimes unfortunately necessary. Please keep the office posted on important family changes and or custody issues so we can act accordingly.
Thank you to everyone who tried out for a team over the summer. While we couldn't pick everyone to be on the team, we were super grateful that you tried. And congratulations to our new athletes. We look forward to some pretty great games in the coming school year!
