Friday, December 20th
Goodness gracious, there's so much going on this Friday. Yes, tomorrow. There's exams to take, chapel to participate in, parties to have, friends to greet and meet, and only a half day to do it all. So listen up. You're going to want to pay attention to this part.
- Exams until 9:15
- Schoolwide Chapel at 9:20 - we'd love it if you joined us.
- Class parties from 10:05-11:15 (7th grade = Bandroom; 8th & 9th grades = Fellowship Hall; 10-12th grades = Upper Elementary Cafeteria by the gym)
- Clean up at 11:15-11:30 - many hands make light work, so let's all knuckle down and get it done
- Early Dismissal at 11:30 - seriously. 11:30. No late stay. As in zero.

...and now you know.

Homecoming, 1/10 @ 10 am
Be sure to clear off some space on your calendar for Saturday's Homecoming. Show up at 10 am and be wowed with the creativity of this year's senior class theme - Festival of Lights. I heard there was going to be a bridge over a river and everything. If that doesn't pique your curiosity, have someone take your temperature. You may be dead.
Preschool Open Enrollment, 1/6
It hasn't begun yet, but it's about to. Enrollment. When we encourage you with every single parent page to fill out those forms we send home and pay the registration fee. - preschool enrollment starts January 6, 2025
- priority enrollment (current students) starts February 1, 2025
- siblings of current FRCS students open enrollment begins February 15, 2025
- community open enrollment begins March 1, 2025
101 Random
Well, that's kind of interesting...- There have been many times I've wondered why I go through all the trouble of putting up a Christmas tree and what it's all about. Maybe it's a grinch thing, or maybe it's an empty nester thing, I'm not sure. But, I did see that it was popularized by a sketch that was shared of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert standing in front of their tree. Which made it fashionable and really makes me wonder why I'm still doing this. I thought trends change...
- Speaking of being a grinch, Christmas has not always been the massively celebrated holiday that it is today. In fact, from 1659-1681 families in the Massachusetts Bay Colony would be fined if they were caught celebrating. Yea, taking the term grinch to a new level!
- Apparently, the first Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center was put there by construction workers in 1931 and looked more like the Charlie Brown tree instead of what it is today. No lights. No decorations. Just a tree. But the tradition stuck and the trees have been getting bigger and better since then. Which is why we have the 74 foot tall and 43 foot wide monstrosity it is today.
- And next on the list of things I've thought about, have you ever wondered why the traditional Christmas colors are red, gold, and green? So glad you asked. Red is symbolic of the blood of Christ that He shed to save us from our sins, green is symbolic of life and rebirth after you ask Jesus to be your Saviour, and gold reminds us of Heaven and the wealth and royalty Jesus gave up for you and me making these colors my all time Christmas favorites.
- A Note From The Author: I just wanted to take this opportunity to let each and every one of you know what a tremendous blessing you have been to me. The smiles, the gifts, the laughter, and especially the patience you have shown me over the past year are precious to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my job the best ever. You all are an amazing blessing!
