Lunches - To Order, Or Not To Order - That Is The Question
We understand. You have to deal with games, practices, dinners, family situations, traffic, and well, just life in general. And we know that things can get pretty hectic. Sometimes even pull your hair out hectic. (I do not recommend this strategy for bald people. Actually I don't recommend it at all. It's rather painful.)
So to help us all out - you, your students, the kitchen staff, me...all of us... - I highly recommend setting an alarm or reminder on your phone to put lunches in every week before Sunday night at 11:59. Yes. I said before Sunday night at 11:59. If everyone did this, it would really make the lunch line run more efficiently and cause less stress for everyone involved.
Life hack #2 (life hack #1 was setting the reminder app) would be to order lunches as far in advance as you possibly can. I think Mrs. Lancaster has the menu set up to go through December. Talk about overachiever! Just kidding, but yea. She's awesome. When she does that, it really makes it easier.
Unfortunately, late fees of $1 per lunch per day will be applied after Labor Day for anyone who forgets to order. Like I said. Reminder App is your friend.
Lost & Found Sale, 8/27-8/29
...and here we are, already making plans for the first lost & found sale of the year. At this point, I usually have a funny whatever saying that if you lost that brand new lunchbox or are missing one shoe, you might want to look through the bins before I put everything out on the tables. But I'm not going to make a joke. I'm just going to let you come by, dig through those bins and search until your heart is content. Here's the thing. If you find your item in the bin before I display everything in all their glory on the tables in front of my office, you can take it. Free of charge. But once it hits that table? Oh yeah. Everything's $1.
The game is on!

No School, 9/1
Fall Pictures, 9/2-9/3
Do you like those before and after types of photos? That's what school pictures can be. You send your precious little person in all their adorable cuteness to have their picture taken at the beginning of school, then, in the spring, you can have them taken again. If you put the pictures side by side, it's remarkable how different your child will look. I wish I would have done this with my children when they were growing up. But you know what they say about 20/20 hindsight.
(Picture schedule will be posted at a later date.)

Hey, Thank You!
We made it. The first week of school is over and done with, and I'm going to tell you, we all learned quite a few things. Some of us learned how to go to our classroom without crying. Some learned to get to class in time, they needed to run. Some learned that they have to listen to hear their name called in the car pickup line. Some learned that yes, they do need to actually have their PE clothes because the PE teacher was not joking and yes, there really would be class.
With all that learning, it's inevitable to have some bumps and hiccups along the way. We want to thank you for your patience during the first week. And, because we're all human and we are bound to mess up again (even if we try really hard not to), we ask that you continue to show us patience and grace. Even a little mercy.
Thank you for a great first week. Our parents here at FRCS are the best!

2025-2026 Minutemen Club
Some of you have asked if we're doing Smart Cards this year, and unfortunately, the answer is no. Instead, FRCS will be offering membership in the Minutemen Club that was rolled out last year.
This Club gives families like yours a unique opportunity to make a difference in student's classrooms across the board. 100% of the proceeds raised go toward student and classroom upgrades and enrichment. This once per year event offers those interested in sponsorship exclusive gifts available only to those who join. All club members will be recognized on a banner in the school.
Click here for more information on sponsorship levels.
Forms
You know how when you get to the very bottom of your favorite drink, it seems like it takes that last drop forever and a day to work its way out? That's how missing forms are. It's a flood at the beginning and barely a trickle at the end. But the truth is, I still need those forms. If you haven't turned them in yet, I have a basket on my desk. You can just drop them right in. You don't even have to make eye contact with me. Drop it and run if you feel like it. I won't say a word. I won't give you the stink eye. I won't be hateful. (Hopefully I won't. but if I'm being honest, sometimes my coffee is broken and leaves me to myself and I'm not to be trusted without my coffee. It's a problem.)
Spiritwear
Hey! Have you had a chance to check out the new spiritwear for this year? Swing by my office and check it out - there are some nice designs!

101 Random - Music and Instruments
- A penny whistle has 6 finger holes. (Which I find interesting because everyone I know only has 5 fingers per hand.)
- The harmonica is the world's most popular instrument. (And possibly most annoying if you don't know how to play it.)
- One violin is made of seventy separate pieces of wood.
- Glass flutes are a thing. They don't expand with humidity which means the owner does not have to tune them. I wonder what would happen if one was naturally sharp. Could that happen? If it could, would therre be a way to fix it?
- Never give up! When Beethoven was a child, his music teachers thought he was useless as a composer. (He was a child, for crying out loud. Eeesh!)
- When Beethoven wanted to write music, he poured ice water over his head. Why? I have no idea but it sounds dreadful.
- Mozart's real name was Johannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart. If I had been alive during that time, I'd have been tempted to just call him Fred. So much easier.
- Mozart wrote the nursery rhyme "Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star" at the age of 5. And now that song is stuck in my head.
