Walkathon Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's Walk-a-thon drive. It turned out to be a fabulously gorgeous day - perfect to walk and walk and walk...
With your generosity, FRCS raised over $112,000 for security upgrades so your child(ren) are safe while here at school. It's our goal to keep moving forward to keep our campus as safe as possible but we couldn't do it without you.
Thank you for donating. We appreciate every one of you.
Gala Tickets Now On Sale!
Be sure to get your Gala tickets (available in the high school office) early so you can request who you would like to sit by. Seriously, this is a big deal and we wouldn't want you to miss out.
$42 for students and their parents, $57 for everyone else. This includes dinner, the awards ceremony and lots of memory making opportunities for all who attend.
Get yours now in the high school office!
Lost & Found Sale, 4/30-5/2
Technically, this isn't the last lost & found sale of the year but I feel that it's pretty close. The very next one will be the last week of school, so that one will definitely be humongous. As in very very large.
Please stop by and peruse the items on the tables in front of my office April 30th through May 2nd. Just think, you have the chance of finding a slightly-used-in-need-of-washing PE set for next year for only $2. Which would be an excellent savings. You're welcome!
TACS State Tournaments, 5/1-5/3
If you're bored out of your mind and you like sports, or if you're one of those in love with concession stand food, (no judgment, I completely get it) we have the game for you.
FRCS will be hosting the TACS State Tournaments here on campus May 1st through the 3rd and we would love for you to come out and cheer on some teams. Mostly ours, though. Otherwise, you may get a few weird looks.
So if you're a baseball, softball, or girl's soccer buff, or even if you're not, swing by, set your chairs up, slather on some sunscreen, and scream your lungs hoarse. Or not. Up to you.
Brownie Sundae Friday, 5/2
The very last Senior Brownie Sundae Sale is this Friday, so this will be your last chance for that ooey gooey chocolatey yet creamy goodness in the middle of the day treat. Only $2 for hero status for both your student and the seniors.
Teacher Appreciation Week, 5/5-5/9
You ever hear the saying, "Not my circus, not my clowns"? Now. Imagine the moment when you see that it actually is your circus and those are your clowns. Multiply that by 25. What do you get?
Stress.
If you have been a teacher, you understand how days can go. It's a toss-up. It could be the best day ever, or...well...not so much.
It never ceases to amaze me how many times I myself will be having a rough day and one person comes into my office and is kind or says something super nice, and it completely changes my day. And my outlook.
Bad days are a natural part of life. As Christians, it's our privilege (that word right there. Privilege. This is one of those words that the longer I look at it the more it looks wrong. Moving on.) to come alongside another and help bear that burden. Most of the time, bearing that burden doesn't take a lot of effort. Just a kind word. A smile. A coffee at the perfect moment. It's the little things that make a big difference.
May 5th - 9th is Teacher Appreciation Week and we would like to invite you to stop by the gym lobby and leave a note for your teacher. There will be pens and paper available so knock yourself out. Well, not really because that could cause a panic and I really don't want to have to deal with that. Anyway. Sometimes that's all it takes to turn a struggling day into a great day!
Junior/Senior Luncheon with Pastor Norris, 5/5
Monday, May 5th, the Junior and Senior classes will be eating lunch with Pastor Norris. This is a special, blessing filled time as the Seniors prepare for the next chapter of their lives, the Juniors fill the shoes that are left behind, and Pastor Norris encourages each of them to finish the year strong.
Elementary Reward Day, 5/7
Hear ye...hear ye...the elementary fun day that all preschoolers through 6th graders want deets on is Wednesday, May 7th. What does that mean to you?
- $50 raised = 2 hour fun day for Pre K3 - 6th graders
- $100 raised = 4 hour fun day for Pre K3 - 6th graders
- $50 raised = 1 Exam Day Pass - 7th-12th graders
- $100 raised = 3 Exam Day Pass - 7th-12th graders
Questions if your student is participating and other things of that nature? Check with your teacher first. If they're unsure, email Mrs. Lawwell and she can answer all those questions.
