Christmas Gift

We hope each of you had an excellent and restful Christmas Break. And, not going to lie, it was so nice coming back on Monday and seeing all your smiling faces. Breaks are wonderful, but y'all really do make my days better. Unless you're grumpy. Then not so much. Just kidding.

Anyway, we wanted to thank everyone for partnering with us for our annual Christmas Project. We were able to collect over $18,000 for the Hurricane Relief push. It never ceases to amaze me what can happen when people team up together and work toward a cause. Because let's face it. If it was left up to me, I'm pretty confident I could have purchased a meal for a family and that's about it. But together, we were able to impact more than one life in a positive way.

You all are the best!

Homecoming, 1/11

At this time of year, it's easy to see things at the beginning - in a new light, if you will. We have new hopes, maybe achieve a goal or two, resolve to be better or do better at something.

But for the seniors of FRCS, this second semester is the downhill slope toward the end of an era.

The last Homecoming games.

Join us as we prepare to send off the 2025 Senior Class in true Homecoming style - The Festival of Lights. Come in and ooh and ahh at their creativity and tell them goodbye. Let them know they will be missed as they hand off the educational baton to the Juniors.

This is their time. Help us make it memorable.

Homecoming starts at 10:00 am, followed by Varsity Boys against Riverside Christian at 11:30; Varsity Girls against Riverside Christian at 1:00; MSG at 2:30 and MSB at 3:30.

It's an excellent way to spend a cold Saturday.

Parent Alerts

Did you see the snow on Monday morning? Did you think that maybe your phone had been broken because you didn't receive a parent alert stating that school had been canceled for the day? Did you, like I, check your email just to make sure you didn't miss something because you know those are the 2 main forms of communication for school closures?

I did. I even left late. It didn't work. Ugh.

Should school ever need to be canceled due to inclement weather, or whatever reason, you will receive a parent alert on your cell phone. An email will be dropped to your email account.

Which means 2 things.

We need a working and valid email address that you check regularly and a working and valid cell phone number. I'm not sure there's anything as icky feeling as driving all the way to school to drop your student off only to realize that school had been canceled for the day.

Don't ask me how I know.

Preschool Enrolling Now

Preschool enrollment has begun. Not Kindergarten. Not 1st through 12th. Preschool. So please, don't panic if you haven't received your paperwork yet. If you don't have a student enrolling in preschool next year, your re-enrollment packet will not come home until the middle of January.

With that being said, you are more than welcome to stop by the financial office and pay for your students ahead of FRCS re-enrollment. Which starts February 1st.

Let me repeat a few important details.

  • Preschool Enrollment is open now
  • Current FRCS families enrollment begins February 1st
  • Current FRCS student sibling enrollment begins February 15th
  • Enrollment for the community begins March 1st
  • Registration fee is $400 per student
  • we take cash or check
  • please note, the registration fee is what saves your student's spot

100 Day Parade, 1/17

January 17th, our preschool through 1st graders will be strutting their 100 days of school selves through the halls of FRCS and we want you to be there to celebrate this momentous accomplishment with us. Parade starts at 9 am.

No School, 1/20

There will be no school (preschool through 12th grade) Monday, January 20th for Parent Teacher Conferences. If you have questions or concerns regarding your student, this is the day set aside for you. Make an appointment with your child's teacher(s) and get a game plan going for a strong finish to this school year.

It's only a few months away.

Spring Portraits, 1/21-1/22

If you missed the beginning of school pictures or your student just started here at FRCS, another opportunity to memorialize this year will be on January 21st and 22nd. No it's not pajama day. Not bad hair day. Not lettuce in your teeth day. Spring Portraits day so, let's make 'em look sharp!

Sports Corner

...and a hearty congratulations goes out to our Varsity Girls basketball team for winning the Christmas Tournament at Lancaster and the Varsity Boys team for being the runner up. We're very proud of you all!

I didn't see very many wet eyes Monday morning, I didn't hear screaming and gnashing of teeth (yes, I'm talking about parents), and I didn't have a bunch of kiddos in my office asking for medicine at 8:05. I'd say that was a win win and another win for the start of a new school year! But, as with anything new, it can take just a little bit to settle into a routine. And ...
