I apologize in advance for all the mistakes in this episode. I thought these would get better, but I believe I am proving myself wrong. ;) Hope it makes you giggle. Enjoy your day!
FRCS Re-enrollment, 2/1
As many of you know, February starts priority enrollment for our current K5-12th grade families. Packets should have gone home with your K5-6th grade students and the 7th-12th packets were sent through the mail. If you have not gotten your packet yet, please don't panic. There are a couple days left in January and your spot is secure. At the moment.
But here's the caveat. Don't relax too much and wait until the end of February to get your registration fee in. Because, enrollment starts for current FRCS student siblings February 15th and you could lose your spot.
Don't hate me - I'm just the messenger and I'm trying to help you understand the possible repercussions of waiting until February 28th.
Sundae Brownie This Friday, 1/24
Short weeks always seem to be longer weeks. Why is that? It's a vicious reality, but there it is. With that in mind, the Seniors will be hosting another Sundae Brownie sale this Friday. Which is tomorrow. Only $2 for ooey gooey goodness and hero status. Win.
Lost & Found Sale, 1/29-1/31
It's not as bad as it has been in the past, but let's not wait, shall we? We don't live in Texas and we don't have a need to grow 'em big.
Our next lost & found sale will be next Wednesday through Friday so if you've misplaced something, you will want to look through the bins before the sale. Because if you find it on my table, you have to buy it back for $1.
Let's just call it a processing fee. Or a tetanus shot fund for me. Whichever makes you feel better.

Spiritwear 25% Off Sweatshirt Sale, 1/23-1/31
Have you been outside lately? I walked to my car this morning (Monday) and my breath wouldn't even freeze. Because it froze inside and wouldn't come out until I had jumped into the car and closed the door. Yes, my neighbors probably laugh on a daily basis.
Anyway all that to say, in honor of the colder weather, we're going to have a 25% off sweatshirt sale. This includes hoodies but does not include the new quarter zips.
Homecoming Rescheduled, 2/8
Valentine's Day Orders
Do you, like me, try to think ahead and be ahead of schedule only to find out that you have inadvertently waited until last minute for whatever-holiday-it-is and have to jump through hoops so it doesn't look like you forgot? Again?
Well, here's your opportunity to not forget Valentine's Day.
The FRCS cheerleaders will be hosting their annual Valentine's Day Bear, Balloon, and Candy sale. And, because we're Americans and like options, we have options. See the below flyer for the deets.
I mean really. How much easier can we make it to be a hero?
Basketball Tournament Results
Congratulations goes out to our Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys basketball teams for taking 2nd place in last weeks tournament against South Haven. Varsity Girls All Tournament was Gracie Tidwell, Emma Dugger, and Anora Golden. Varsity Boys All Tournament was Ben Walker, Connor Branch, and Pierre DeShields.
Great job y'all!
More Awesome Results...
Speaking of results, our basketball teams aren't the only ones out there making waves. Word has it that Olivia Higdon, Naomi Spencer, and Ryan Spencer auditioned for placement in the Mid-State Band group.
Here's the Scoop...
- Olivia Higdon took 1st chair flute in gold band out of nearly 150 flutes. She also placed 2nd chair with oboe, but chose 1st chair flute.
- Naomi Spencer took 1st chair trumpet in gold band out of 100+ other trumpet players in 7th-8th grades.
- Ryan Spencer took 6th chair in silver band out of nearly 100 11th-12th grade trumpets.

- According to research, it has been said that the human nose can distinguish 1 trillion different smells/scents. I, however, do not agree with this. Walking through some hallways at certain times of the day, I believe our noses can detect so...much...more.
- At one point in history, people used to eat arsenic to improve their skin. Yes. Arsenic. You know that poisonous stuff that should not be ingested? That's the very same stuff. It is my opinion as well that eating liver is also something that should not be ingested because, well, it's gross. And it smells funny. Seems like a reasonable thing, right?
- It's rumored that football teams who wear red typically score and do better in their games. Which is probably why and how you know who won the championship this past weekend. Just a thought.
- I've heard that the smallest painting ever was done by a Flemish artist and is a picture of a miller and his mill and it's on a piece of corn. Makes me wonder. Did he run out of paper and just get hit with the creative bug? Was his mother making him eat his vegetables and this was his way of rebelling? Or did he love that one piece of corn so much he wanted to save its 'life' and that's the only way he could think of to do it like Charlotte in Charlotte's Web? The questions I have...
- The human form is complicated, pretty sure you'd agree. I especially realize this when I'm trying to draw something a little better than a bald stick figure which usually ends up looking like a curvy stick figure with Medusa's hair. Leonardo da Vinci, who would not be an admirer of my curvy Medusa, took 12 years to paint Mona Lisa's lips. Twelve years. Gonna have to pass on that one. I don't have the patience.
