**Parent Alerts**
We hope everyone stayed safe and warm those extra 2 days off of school last Friday and this past Monday. I don't know what you did, but I did manage to get a couple things done. It was called blob and slob. Apparently I'm really good at that.
If you did not receive the Parent Alert via text last Thursday and Sunday, first of all, that's really unfortunate because you may have gotten up way too early for no school. And two, we need you to call the office or stop by so we can see what happened. You're going to want to know if any days are called off in future so you too can practice your blob and slob persona.
100 Day Parade, 1/17
Is it just me or is this year scooting by like a clown on a squishy banana peel? Me? Ok, I shall seek medical attention post haste. Tomorrow will be our annual 100 Day Parade where all of preschool through 1st graders march through the halls dressed to the hilt in the cutest of the cutes, toss candy at people and wave at onlookers. Unless they're embarrassed. Then they may chuck the candy, run, and/or cry. You never know what exactly is going to happen. We would love for you to be there.
Parade onlookers, videographers, by-standers, and just plain old gawkers are welcome to head to the Commons or the gym but you're going to want to be there before 9. That's when the parade starts and you don't want to miss any of it, trust me.
No School, 1/20
I think I could get on board with this whole no school on Mondays thing. (Powers that be, please take note here.) Don't get me wrong, I love my job, but I'm not going to argue if someone wants to give us days off here and there and Mondays seem just as good a day as any. Just throwing it out there.
This coming Monday, January 20th there will be no school. But there will be opportunities for you to talk to your students teachers if you'd like. Just reach out and schedule an appointment with the teacher in question and they will be happy to assist you.

Spring Portraits, 1/21-1/22
I like to look at before and after photos, as I'm sure do some of you. I like to peruse the differences and changes that were made in a particular situation whether it be a kitchen, a bathroom, whatever. Spring Portraits give you that opportunity with your child. It can be mind-boggling to see all the changes that your student has gone through in only a few months of school.
This is a tentative schedule, but it should be close enough to help you plan.

Current Student Enrollment Opens, 2/1
Here we are, already halfway through January and enrollment has definitely kept us hopping here in the office. While preschool enrollment is currently open, don't forget that current student enrollment opens February 1st. If you haven't paid the registration fee of $400 (cash or check) you'll want to do that as soon as possible. We do not, I repeat, do not want you to lose your spot.
- preschool enrollment is open now
- current FRCS families enrollment begins February 1st
- current FRCS student sibling enrollment begins February 15th
- open enrollment for community begins March 1st
Homecoming Rescheduled, 2/8
Homecoming, which was supposed to happen January 11th, has been rescheduled to February 8th. The same things apply. Homecoming festivities, Festival of Lights, start at 10 am with basketball games to follow. 101 Random
- John Quincy Adams had a pet alligator that he kept in the East Room of the White House. I'm going to need to know if his name was Hector. Can someone look into that for me?
- It is reported that John Tyler had fifteen children. And probably one irritated wife...
- The longest inaugural speech given by a president was by William Henry Harrison which lasted one hour and forty-five minutes. During a snowstorm. Yea, if I had been there, I'd probably be the one you'd see sneaking away for a cup of coffee or hot chocolate.
- Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address only had 272 words. Which is three more than the biggest speech ever given by my husband.
- Harry Truman's middle name is...S. Just S. His parents couldn't decide between two different names starting with S so they just left it as is.
