Seeing as how this week's Parent Page was intended to be an abbreviated one, please feel free to ignore this part. You have been warned.
  • Cuvier's beaked whales can hold their breath for 2 hours. Here's the thing. 1. Whales have beaks?! Never have I ever heard of a beaked whale and now I have a new thing to put on my bucket list. 2. Who watched that beaky whale hold its breath  and how do they know it was the same whale they started with? Did they not blink for 2 hours? Did the whale swim in one spot so they could watch them?
  • I have heard that penicillin was originally called 'mold juice'. This is one of those instances where a new name was definitely needed. Can you imagine your doctor coming in and saying "you're sick, but don't worry. We have mold juice." I don't believe it would be a very popular remedy, if we're being honest.
  • Apparently, all mammals get goosebumps. Where I read this did not say, almost all, or nearly all, but all. As in all of them. You know what's coming next. Who looked at every single mammal and checked the box for goosebumps? And how did they give those animals the goosebumps? If anyone knows if there's a goosebump giver position for panda bears, would you let me know?

Good luck and we wish you the best.  Oh yea. Here's the link. So Many Things, 5/17-5/23 I apologize in advance for the length of this week's Parent Page.   Cross Country 8/16 - MS & Varsity, Siegel High, Away, 6:00  Golf 8/18 - Varsity, Merrol Hyde, Away, 3:30 Volleyball 8/18 - Varsity, Lancaster, Home, 5:00 Patience...patience...patience I don't know if you noticed it or not, but it seems like this past summer just sped by like it was on two wheels. It felt like it barely even started before it was already over. But, no use crying over the inevitable. School had to restart so right now seems like as good a time as any. So welcome back to the returning students - we missed you. School just isn't the same when y'all aren't here. And welcome to the new students - we cannot wait to make your acquaintance and get to know you better. I hope your week - and your student's week - was excellent. If it wasn't, well, I hope it was mostly good. Of course, there were some kinks along the way and that elementary secretary seemed a little scratchy at times (I'm so very sorry. I hate being scratchy and I am determined t...
