Brownie Sundaes, 10/25

Don't forget, this Friday the Seniors are hosting another Brownie Sundae event in the Commons. So bring your $2, or give your child a chore to earn $2, or let them purge the trays in the car for $2, or whatever you want to do. The gist of it is, it'll only take $2 to gain you hero status this week. You're welcome. :)

Harvest Festival, 10/26

If you have looked out your window at 4:30 pm and noticed that it's already getting dark, you would be correct. It is. Which means Harvest Festival is right around the corner. As in this Saturday. Be sure to join us for this year's Harvest Festival from 3-7 pm. There's games, prizes, food, fun, and basically everything you need to have a super fun and enjoyable Saturday evening making memories with your family.

You can register here. And it's free. Yes, free. As in no money. Zero.

Abby Candles, 10/7-10/28

Now's your chance to start your Christmas shopping as well as be a blessing to an 11th grader with our annual Abby Candle sale going on now. If you don't know an 11th grader and just wanna buy something, you can do that too.

If you're not a fan of candles, no worries. There's socks, wax melts, popcorn, and baking mixes. Which are delicious. Ask me how I know. Don't want to leave your couch? Fabulous idea! Do some couch-shopping online here.

Not really in the mood to shop online? Stop by my office and check out the brochures. There's a lot of stuff to look through and choose from.

Lost & Found, 10/30-11/1

Lost & Found. It's a thing. And here at FRCS, we go big or go home. And we need these things to go home. Someone's home. Feel free to stop by the tables in front of my office next Wednesday through Friday and go shopping. Everything's $1.

Preschool Closed, 11/1

Parents of Preschool aged children, there will be no preschool next Friday, November 1st. Thought you'd probably want to know that. Seriously. No school for preschoolers on the 1st.

Turn Your Clock Back, 11/3

Don't forget to change your clocks back an hour Saturday night so you're not super early for church on Sunday morning. If you are that one who is super early because you forgot, bring donuts. Everyone will thank you for it. :)

Class Photos/Individual Retakes, 11/11

Class Photos will be November 11th. This is also the day that if you were not thrilled with your student's photo, they can have it retaken. Which is awesome. However, you may want to make sure they're not wearing the same outfit as their first picture. Or their hair is done differently. Anyway, good luck. I'm sure they'll look fabulous.

PTF Minutemen Club Membership

Remember, the last day to sign up for the PTF Minutemen Club Membership is November 15th. Feel free to Read more about it (or join) here

Have a family member - grandparent, aunt, uncle, or second cousin twice removed on your mother's side that would be interested in showing their support as well? Feel free to pass the link along. We - and our teachers - thank each and every one of you in advance for your continued efforts in making our school the best it can be.

Hey, wanted to send out a quick shoutout to Rylee Davis for taking 1st place at the TSIAA Golf Tournament on October 1st. Congratulations and well done - we're super proud of you Rylee!

Although the season has ended for Cross Country, the memories are there for a lifetime. Enjoy these photos...

101 Random

Send your answers in, WITHOUT using Google, and I'll put your name in a bowl for every correct answer. At the end of the month, 1 lucky person will win a Hershey bar!

Last week's answers:

 This week's questions:
  • What do these have in common: corn, snow, dandruff
  • What do these have in common: Morse code, Pac-Man, web address

Just for Laughs

  • Did you know that it is illegal in Switzerland to own only 1 Guinea pig? It's true. It is considered animal abuse because they are social animals. I wonder if my husband would believe me if I told him that he needs to be more social because his lack of communicating could be considered wife abuse. Do you think it would make him talk more? May have to set up a poll.
  • Baby rabbits are called kits. Which is pretty cute. In fact, baby rabbits seem to be the only thing my garden ever grows. I can't even grow weeds. It's an affliction.
  • A chef's hat has 100 pleats supposedly because there are 100 different ways to cook an egg. I know three. I feel like I'm a little slow in this area and yet I have no desire to learn more. Boiled. Scrambled. Fried. My life is complete.
  • I have read that there is a species of ant unique to New York. They're called Manhatt Ants. If that isn't the most boujie thing you've ever heard, I need to know what tops it. Come see me. We'll talk.
  • And on the heels of the previous sentence, who-I ask you-WHO, stares at ants so much they know when one LOOKS DIFFERENT?!?! I've found 3 different ants that I can recognize rather quickly. Black ants (big and small ones), red ants (they make you move funny when they snack on you), and the large furry red ones (yes, FURRY) that you can run over with a car and they laugh at you. I believe they're mutants of some sort but that's just my opinion.

I didn't see very many wet eyes Monday morning, I didn't hear screaming and gnashing of teeth (yes, I'm talking about parents), and I didn't have a bunch of kiddos in my office asking for medicine at 8:05. I'd say that was a win win and another win for the start of a new school year! But, as with anything new, it can take just a little bit to settle into a routine. And ...
