Fall Break, 9/26-9/27

I'm sure you've probably heard, but if you haven't, here you go. Thursday and Friday there will be no school due to Fall Break. When all the grades, preschool through 12th, will not be on campus. Nope. No one. Which also means there will be no late stay and no lunches. Stay home and make some memories.

To Order Lunches

Just a quick reminder that lunches need to be ordered by Sunday night, 9/29 for the upcoming week. I know it's a long weekend, so you may want to set a reminder on your phone. Or ask someone to call you, tie a string around your finger, message yourself, email yourself, send you smoke signals...whatever will work best. Just remember that lunches need to be in by Sunday night.

Trust me. Kids really love to eat . It makes them happy... ;)

It's Going to be a Pink Out! 10/4

In honor of October being Cancer Awareness month, our Varsity Volleyball team will be hosting a Pink Out on Friday, October 4th. The game starts at 5:00, so come early and see a sea of Pink! Bonus: if your student comes to the game wearing pink, they will receive a Homework Pass. Come show your support!

Abby Candle Sale Begins 10/8

Abby Candle sales will begin October 8th. This is not a required fundraiser - you do not have to participate. We would love it if everyone did, but we get it if you can't. But just so you know, all funds raised through these sales will go toward the Junior Class trip to Washington D.C. (Which, having never been to Washington D.C., I volunteer to be a chaperone every year, only to be shut down. sigh. The injustice of it all.)

So, if you happen to peruse the catalog (which will be coming home soon) and see something spectacular or oh-so-cute that you just have to have, know that it will go toward a good educational cause and you will be contributing for some Junior to have some excellent memories.

End of First Quarter Draweth Nigh

Actually, it's October 11th, to be precise. Which means if you have unfinished homework, tests, or quizzes, you'll want to make sure all those have been completed before then. Big fat goose eggs don't do wonderful things to your GPA.

Moms and Dads, this is the perfect time to check on your student's grades. Are they where you think they should be? Is there something that is a little concerning to you? Are you seeing a trend? Now is the time to get in touch with the teacher(s). Get a game plan worked out together so your student can succeed.

Because before you know it, I'll be announcing that the 4th quarter is ending and it'll be too late to fix the issues.

Memories in the Making

While you may hear a couple groans and grunts when you wake your kiddos up for school in the mornings, there are great things about school I'm positive they love. Lunches with friends. Recess. Racing across the soccer field. And field trips. What a great way to create memories that will last a lifetime! Here's a quick peek at some happy faces from a few of our recent field trips.

I didn't see very many wet eyes Monday morning, I didn't hear screaming and gnashing of teeth (yes, I'm talking about parents), and I didn't have a bunch of kiddos in my office asking for medicine at 8:05. I'd say that was a win win and another win for the start of a new school year! But, as with anything new, it can take just a little bit to settle into a routine. And ...
