Walkathon Thank You!
Once again, you have shown that FRCS has the best of the best students and parents. Thank you just doesn't convey how much we and future generations of students appreciate your generosity and support for this year's projects. You will never know how much your support has made a difference in the lives of others. Thank you from the bottom of our heart.
TACS Tournaments, 5/2-5/4
The year is winding down-I know it doesn't feel like it with so much going on, but it is. So if you haven't made it any games yet and you had intended to do so, this may be your last chance. Come join us and support FRCS in the TACS Tournaments May 2nd through May 4th.
Because this is a TACS sponsored event, tickets will be $8 for adults and $5 for students. Children ages 4 and under are free. See brackets below to see when we play. Or scope out our competition. Whichever.
Walkathon Fun Day, 5/10
Don't forget - if your preschool through 6th grade student raised $50 or higher, their fun day will be May 10th. So you'll probably want to have a jacket, gloves, or sunscreen because you really never know what we're going to get.
If your 7th-12th grader raised $50 or above, they will be allowed to use their Exam Passes on the last week of school after that particular exam has been finished.
Senior Exams, 5/6-5/10
Seniors, here is your exam schedule. I hope you have all your tests, quizzes, projects, and homework completed and turned in before the Senior Trip (in 11 days...eek!!)
Exam permits may be used Tuesday - Friday, May 7th through May 10th after you have finished your exam(s) for that day if you raised $50 or above.
Let's finish this chapter strong!
End of the Year
As of today, we only have 14.5 school days left. (School days. I don't include weekends because those are mine and I guard them with intense jealousy.) 14.5 is so tantalizing we can almost taste it. (It makes the crazies come out in some people. Yes I'm pointing the finger at myself but I embrace the crazy because it's so much easier than to fight against the amount of crazy I deal with. Moving on.) Please make sure all homework, quizzes, projects, and tests have been completed.
One of the best ways to make your report card dive is by not turning your stuff in. We don't want that. You don't want that. Your future self doesn't want that. Quit putting it off and let's get it done. :)
Dr. Appointments
Just a quick reminder that when you sign your student(s) out for a Doctor appointment in the afternoon, we really do need those Dr. notes. Just drop them off in the office and we will take it from there. Thanks so much!
Spiritwear Sale Going on Now
Get 50% off all spiritwear until we run out. It's a great time to stock up on those FRCS approved shirts and hoodies for next year!
Merit Day, 5/14
Remember, Merit Day is May 14th so if your 7th - 12th grader has less than 10 demerits, they will indeed have that day off. Unless they're addicted to school and can't stand missing out on all the things everyone else will be doing. Then sure. Send them along. We will take them. :)
Teacher Appreciation Week, 5/6-5/10
I know this is the broken record part of the Parent Page, but Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6 through May 10. Show the teachers you care and leave them a note. There will be a place in the gym lobby for you to do so. Notes will be delivered every day. Unless I'm tired and have had a wonky/crazy/stressful day and I have run away crying. Then it will be the next day. Or thereafter. Who knows. But they will be delivered, you have my word.

- Giraffes are 30 times more likely to be hit by lightening. Understandable when you come to think about it. However, it does give one pause and a reason to reflect before putting those metal neck stretching rings some people like to use. The longer the neck, the more possible it is of being zapped. I'll keep my short, squatty neck the way it is, thank you very much.
- There once was a dog that lived to be 29.5 years old. Most dogs live between 10-15 years, so that's a pretty long life in dog years. (My cat? She's 900 years old-seems like it, anyway. And deaf. I also believe she's going bald. And very needy.)
- And the (recorded) oldest cat lived to be 38 years old. I will lose my mind if mine beats that. I will be certifibably crazy. You've been warned.
- I've read - and been told - that what color you wear can affect how people perceive you. And supposedly it affects your performance during the day as well. So, what color would one wear if they wanted to be treated as main ruler of the universe? Asking for a friend. ;)
- Next time you pick up that cute (?), slimey slug with a mobile home on its back, remember. They have teeth. And those teeth are all over its tongue. I believe this knowledge is the stuff of nightmares. I'm not ok right now and I feel that I need to wash my hands.
