Christmas Project - Last Day 12/15

Each year FRCS raises to money to go toward a special project. This year, it is our desire to help B&L Foundation in Shelbyville purchase paper to print Bibles. As an added bonus, hopefully, our upper classes will be able to visit and collate Bibles as well. Talk about a hands' on experience! It really is interesting and fun when you get to see the entire process of printing and putting Bibles together.

Scan the QR code for more information. Last day to donate will be December 15th and we thank you in advance!

Elementary Christmas Program 12/5 @ 7:00

It's the time of year to dust off that old camera (or the old iPhone. Whatever you want to use.) to capture some pretty cute memories you won't be able to recreate. Join us Tuesday, December 5th @ 7:00 in the church auditorium to see the cutest little Christmas program in Middle Tennessee. I'm really not joking. It's always cute and it's always memorable. Here's the deets:

  • Preschool through 5th grades
  • Girls wear Christmasy dresses
  • Boys wear Christmasy shirt and pants
  • Bake sale will follow program
Be prepared to enjoy singing, band, handbells, and a very cute play. And if you're in a bad mood when you get here, I'm pretty confident you'll be ousted out of it by the end of the evening.

Secondary Christmas Program 12/7 @ 7:00

...and just in case you came in a bad mood and left in a bad mood on Tuesday, here's another chance for us to whack it out of you. (Figuratively of course. No one will whop you upside the head. On purpose. Unless your SO does it, then I'm sorry, but it's your problem and I can do very little to help you.)

Our Secondary Grades, 6th through 12th, will be wowing you on Thursday, December 7th at 7:00.

Attire:

  • Ladies - black skirt (knee length or longer), red, white, or green sweater, and dark dress shoes
  • Gentlemen - black dress pants, white dress shirt, black dress shoes, and a Christmas colord tie. Please no novelty ties.
  • Gentlemen in SH Choir/Ensemble and Handbells, please wear a black sport coat as well. A black suit is best if you have it.
Arrival:
  • Please be in your holding location by 6:40
  • Concert begins at 7:00
Who's Involved:
  • MS Choir
  • MS Handbells
  • SH Choir/Ensemble
  • SH Handbells
  • Brass Quintet
  • Concert Band
**Bake sale to follow program.**

Thank You!

Our wonderful kitchen staff would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for everyone who came out to our Thanksgiving Luncheon. You all are blessings and we appreciate you so much!

Lost & Found Sale, 11/29-12/1

One day has gone by so if you haven't stopped by the LF tables in front of my office, you probably should. There's quite a bit of stuff to choose from. Sale ends Friday.

Spirit of Christmas, 12/10

Sheesh this was a long parent page, I do apologize. But we'd love to have you and your family join us for our annual Spirit of Christmas, December 10th at 10:30 am in the church auditorium. It's a great way to worship and remember the Blessing God sent to us so long ago in the form of His Son.

Coming Up Next...

  • Elementary Christmas Program - 12/5
  • MS/HS Christmas Program - 12/7
  • Spirit of Christmas at FRBC - 12/10
  • End of 2nd Semester - 12/12
  • Merit Day - 12/14 (grades 7-12 - under 10 demerits earn this day off school)
  • 12/18-12/21 Exams
  • 12/21 - half day
  • 12/22-1/5 - Christmas Break

Did You Know?

  • How many feet can a cobra spit venom? 6.5 feet
  • Which is bigger - the tallest U.S. president Abraham Lincoln, or President Lincoln's nose on Mount Rushmore? President Lincoln's NOSE on Mt. Rushmore. This one just kinda seemed obvious to me.
  • Which is true - Ostriches will headbutt each other when threatened or ostriches can swim, but they cannot fly. They can swim but they cannot fly. I want to see a swimming ostrich. This is now on my bucket list.
  • How many pounds of bamboo do you think a panda eats every day? 36 lbs! They're so fluffy and cuddly - I love them.
  • Which is true - the Pacific beetle cockroach produces milk or iguanas are the only reptiles that produce milk. (I know the answer, but I really think both sound absolutely disgusting. I pray we never EVER see cockroach/iguana milk in Kroger.) - The Pacific Beetle Cockroach produces milk. I am not okay right now. Ew!

Can You Answer?

  • Which one is hotter, the temperature of a kernel of popcorn when it pops OR the temperature a sidewalk has to be to fry an egg on it?
  • Which one is hotter - the air around a lightening bolt OR the surface of the sun?
  • Which one is true - Shrimp can swim backward OR there are only 4 species of shrimp in the world?
  • How many months would it take you to drive a car from Earth to the moon at 60 mph?
  • How many calories does the average person eat at Thanksgiving dinner?
  • Which one is wider - the contiguous United States or Pluto?
Come by the office with an answer and get a piece of candy. :)
Answers will be in next week's Parent Page

I didn't see very many wet eyes Monday morning, I didn't hear screaming and gnashing of teeth (yes, I'm talking about parents), and I didn't have a bunch of kiddos in my office asking for medicine at 8:05. I'd say that was a win win and another win for the start of a new school year! But, as with anything new, it can take just a little bit to settle into a routine. And ...
