Thank You!

Thank you to everyone who showed up to this year's New Parent Meeting. We hope you found it useful, informative, and very helpful. Remember, if you have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher, or call the office. We're always happy to help you.

Grandparents Day, 9/8

Don't forget - tomorrow is Grandparents Day for preschool through 6th grade. Grandparents, you're more than welcome to take your grandchild out to lunch after the program and hey, if mom and dad say it's okay, we'll let you keep them the entire day! We do need to know, though, so please. Fill out the form below and turn it into your child's teacher or the office.

Moms & Dads - do your child's grandparents live too far away or simply cannot make it but you don't want your child to feel left out? We understand. We invite you to be honorary grandparent for the day and take your child out to lunch and if they behave, and you feel so inclined, you can keep them for the remainder of the day as well. Just fill out the form below to let us know what your intentions are.

For those of you who cannot make it, here's the Livestream link - https://frcsminutemen.com/live/https://frcsminutemen.com/live/

Smart Card Return

The due date has come and gone, but we will still take your Smart Cards. If you haven't returned them yet, please bring them by the office. I promise no one will give you the stink eye.

**If you pre-sold Smart Cards, remember to let us know as soon as possible so we can make sure we have enough cards to cover everyone's needs. We'd hate to give unsold cards back and you need them. Again, thank you so much for participating!

Tent Revival, 9/16

Join us for our annual Fall Tent Revival! Festivities start Saturday at 3 pm with a Carnival (yes, it's FREE), 5 pm Dinner on the Grounds (no we don't make you eat off the ground. Just a fancy way of saying dinner is on the premises), 6:30 pm Prayer for Revival, and 7:00 pm Luke Bishop will be our special speaker for the night.

  • Sunday - 6:30 pm, speaker will be: Dave Delaney
  • Monday - 7:00 pm, speaker will be: Dean Miller
  • Tuesday - 7:00 pm, speaker will be: Gabe Ruhl
  • Wednesday and final night - 7:00 pm, speaker will be: Scott Caudill

This is a favorite time of year and we really don't want you to miss it.

The Mum-iest Time of Year

Can you have Autumn without mums on your porch? Or would you be a Fall Scrooge if you didn't have at least one? Not sure. I tried it one year. Didn't like it. No pop and pizazz on the porch which made me feel pretty poorly.

You can order your mums online now, or you can play Mum Roulette and wait until pick up day September 18th-19th and hope for the best. I wouldn't recommend it. Just my opinion though - you do what you want. Here's the form:

101 Random

  • Walter Arnold was the first person charged with speeding in 1896. His top speed? 8 mph. I think he was driving in front of me yesterday on the expressway.
  • Next time you're tempted to complain about how hot it is, be grateful you don't live in El Azizia, Libya. The temperature hit a whopping 136 degrees in 1922! Can deodorant even work in that kind of heat?! I mean, what do you do? There is no possible way to smell fresh in that type of environment.
  • Canada is south of Detroit. Which really blows my mind because I, who used to live in Michigan, have always thought of it being north. I seriously had to check the map to see if it was correct.
  • Mosquitoes can be deadly because of the diseases they might carry. Which is why I bought and put up a Bat House (no, not so batman can move in) on the side of our shed. I'm hoping to be able to go outside again without a ton of Off! or Skin So Soft in the next five years. Until then, I probably won't go outside unless I either smell like a chemical factory, or a large, slippery flower. :(
  • I have read that our noses can distinguish at least a trillion different odors. Which is a little discouraging to those super smellers out there. Pretty sure we can smell someone using Axe a mile away. As my mother used to say, a little dab will do ya.
  • The longest fingernails ever recorded were a total of 42 feet long in 2022. That is completely terrifying to me, I kid you not. I would scream and run away if I ever saw this person. How do you do anything?! How do you eat? Or clean your ears? Or vacuum your house?! The HORROR of it all!!!! I have the heebie jeebies just thinking about it...

Just a thought.   And for those of you who like to be extra prepared and ready, please enjoy the exam schedule below: Thank You We know
