Abby Candles Coming to a Junior Near You
Once again, you will have an opportunity to help our Junior class raise money to go to Washington D.C. in the spring. A packet of information will be sent home soon. Remember, you are not required to participate in this fundraiser. Not even a little bit. But we have found that it's a good Christmas shopping starting place. Not to mention that it's delivered right to you. Bonus!
Mum Today, Gone Tomorrow
There are a few mums available for purchase in the lower parking lot near Gresham Lane. Swing by, choose what you want, and if no one's there, bring your cash to the elementary office. $20 for 3 gallon and $15 for 1 gallon. Lots of colors to choose from. Someone will be there from 7:30-9:00 am and 2:30-4:00 to help you out. :)
Fall Break, 9/28-9/29
They've been working hard, we've been working hard, the leaves are changing, and the temperatures are going down (a little. Work with me.) So next week, September 28th & 29th we're giving you those days off to enjoy with your family. Do fun things. Make the memories. And make the lunches because we won't be here. :) School resumes 10/2 and it will be a full day.
**Lunch orders need to be put in by 11:59 10/1. Don't forget!** Know what? Go big and just put all the lunches in for the remainder of October. I dare you.
Forms
It's that time of year again. The time when I harass you for school forms. If you've received an email mentioning that we still need forms, would you please be so kind as to fill them out online and press save when you're done? (It won't add the information to my list until that little snippet is done.)
Having issues? Stop by the office and pick up the paper forms. I'll even throw in a free smile.

101 Random
- When I mention the word 'Volkswagon' I'd be willing to guess that you automatically think of a car. Did you know that they also make sausages? Yes! Those little hot dog type things that you consume. Called a currywurst sausage, it's said to make even more revenue than the cars. To tell you the truth, I'm not sure I'd trust a sausage from a car company. Or vice versa.
- The national animal of Scotland is a unicorn. In the mid 1500s, being the natural enemy of England's national animal (the lion), the unicorn was put on the royal coat of arms. (They probably did that to irritate England as much as possible.) After the two countries made peace with each other, both the lion and the unicorn were put on the United Kingdom's arms.
- Ladies, next time you need to go shopping, find a girlfriend to go with you. It's reported that the average male gets bored of shopping after only 26 minutes and we all know that's not nearly enough time to even get to the back of the store where the clearance racks are!
- I've read that China has banned well-known forms of social media like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest. Instead, they have their own social media outlets such as TikTok, WeChat, and Weibo. I honestly do not know how I would survive without Pinterest. Seriously. It'd probably kill me.
- There once was an old lady who stopped at a nature reserve and was shocked when she came back to her car to see it covered in bees. After a few minutes, the bees were shooed away by a professional and she made her way home. The next day, she was horrified to see her car was once again covered in bees. The problem? Their queen bee had gotten stuck inside and they were faithfully following her.
- ...and one random life hack: Never, ever use a rolling chair to hang curtains. It rarely ends well.
