Tent Revival Time, 9/16

Don't forget to join us for our annual Fall Tent Revival. Saturday kicks off the festivities with a fun carnival for the kids starting at 3:00, (did I mention that it's free?) dinner on the grounds at 5:30, and good old-fashioned preaching starting at 7:00 pm. So bring your bag chair and maybe a lap blanket to cuddle under, and be refreshed and revived.

  • Sunday - 6:30 with Dave Delaney
  • Monday - 7:00 with Dean Miller
  • Tuesday - 7:00 with Gabe Ruhl
  • Wednesday - 7:00 with Scott Caudill

**Kids classes are available each night!

If you prefer not to receive this email, please hustle to your Renweb account, click web forms, fill them out and hit that submit button. If you've already done so, thank you. No action is required except for maybe a self-satisfied smirk as you lean back in your chair.

Fall Break, 9/28-9/29

It's almost upon us. Fall Break is less than 2 weeks away! The days you don't need to be at school are September 28th and September 29th. The rest of the days are not optional. If you're planning on going out of town, drop us an email so we can get your child's work ready and together so they don't get behind.

How You Feeling?

If you're under the weather and need to stay home, please be sure to reach out to your teachers so they can get the work to you. It's not easy coming back from a couple days of being sick to a boatload of homework, quizzes, and tests. It can be enough to put you back in the sick bed! And once you come back, remember it is your responsibility to make up all that homework, those quizzes, and those tests in a timely manner.

Don't procrastinate. That small tiny pile of work will only get bigger and out of hand if you do.

It's Getting Cooler...

I realize that the temperatures aren't exactly sweater weather yet, but it's a good idea to send in a jacket or sweater with your student for when they go outside from now on just in case. Who knows? The weather tomorrow could be a scorching 98° or it could be a tepid 62°. We do live in Tennessee.

101 Random

  • I've been told that 7% of American adults think that chocolate milk comes from brown cows and at first I had a hard time believing that. Until I overheard a grown man arguing that hamburgers come from pigs. True story.
  • Did you know that if you banged your head against a wall for an hour, not only would you burn 150 calories but you'd have a whopping headache to go with it. Or you could do things the easy way and just take your dog for a 45 minute walk. Don't have a dog? I'm sure your neighbor won't mind if you borrow theirs. Probably should ask first.
  • If you visit a friend on May 29th and see a pillow on top of their fridge, don't panic. They have not lost their mind. (Maybe.) They're just following a centuries old tradition hoping to bring peace, luck, and prosperity to their house. An easier way to do all those things and not have someone call the looneybin on you? Pray and ask. ;)
  • We all know that if a word ends in 'phobia' it means a fear of something. There's triskaidekaphobia (fear of the #13), arachnaphobia (fear of spiders - pretty sure every sane person has this), and ancraophobia (the fear of wind). But did you know cherophobia is the fear of having fun? I believe I know someone who suffers from this. I shall not mention any names...
  • Lifting a kangaroo's tail off the ground will hinder it from hopping. I'm not sure it would stop it from bopping you with its hind feet though so you probably don't want to give it a try next time you're tempted to test this out.
  • ...and 1 tip to live by: Do not steam press your shirt while wearing it. Don't ask me how I know this...

I didn't see very many wet eyes Monday morning, I didn't hear screaming and gnashing of teeth (yes, I'm talking about parents), and I didn't have a bunch of kiddos in my office asking for medicine at 8:05. I'd say that was a win win and another win for the start of a new school year! But, as with anything new, it can take just a little bit to settle into a routine. And ...
