Forms, Forms, Forms, Gimme All The Forms
I realize that I may be repeating myself on this, but please. If you haven't turned in your forms (Authorization, Concussion, Photo Consent, Internet Web, and more if your 7th-12th grader is planning on playing sports,) please do so as soon as possible. Don't know how to get to it online? Give me a call or send me an email and I'll try to help. Thanks!
Thank You
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Prayer Walk around campus last Saturday. It was a great time and a huge blessing to see you all there! Please continue to keep FRCS in your prayers as we continue this school year. It's going to be the best one yet!
Smart Cards & Money Due, 9/1
We just started August and here I am talking about September. Oi time is certainly speeding by.
If you have Smart Cards, please turn in the money you have collected as well as any unsold cards to the elementary office no later than September 1st. Our goal this year is to sell more than 350!
No School? Already?! 9/4
We think it's important to remind you that we will not be having school Monday, September 4th in observance of Labor Day. Have a great day with your family as we celebrate and take a break. School will resume on September 5th. Yes. A full day. On the 5th.
**Lunches will still need to be put in Sunday night, September 3rd before midnight. Hopefully I will send out a reminder email, but I might forget. Or fall asleep. Set your reminder app.
New Parent Meeting, 9/5
New to our school? Feeling a little overwhelmed with all the things? Thought so. We get it. Join us, September 5th at 7:00 pm in the church auditorium and we will try to answer all your questions and concerns.
Grandparent's Day, 9/8
Bring the Gigis, the Nanas, the Mimis, the Pops, the Pups, and the Poppys to school September 8th as we honor those beloved grandparents starting at 10:00 am in the church auditorium. Be prepared to see the cutest kids giving the cutest program and afterward, feel free to take your Preschool through 6th grade grandchild out for the rest of the day. Make sure the teacher knows and is aware of your plans, please. No one likes a lost Grandpa or Grandma.
Spiritwear
We know that Orientation Day was more than a little overwhelming for a few of you and you may have bypassed the crowds at the spiritwear tables. That's ok. You're not required to purchase any. But if you would like to do so with less people around to make you nervous, there will be a couple tables set up in front of my office until Friday afternoon. Stop by and see if there's anything you'd like.
Things About Labor Day
- Traditionally, it was unacceptable to wear white after Labor Day. In fact, in the Victorian Era, it was considered rude and showing off if you did so as only the wealthy wore white during the summer. But there have always been those who do not follow the 'rules' and now, there are many encouraging people to wear white all year round. The chaos! The anarchy! Whatever will we do with this new freedom? I'm so conflicted...
- Americans will eat around 7 billion hot dogs between Memorial Day and Labor Day. But what about the potato salad? Can you have Labor Day festivities without the spud-salad?
- Labor Day is considered by many to be the 'unofficial' end of summer. I'm not sure, but I seem to recall going back to school after Labor Day. But then again, our last day of school was always in June and we definitely don't want that. I'll keep it the way it is, thank you very much.
- Apparently, Labor Day is also one of those long weekends where people try to squeeze in one last holiday which makes it a huge travel weekend. Think I'll be staying in. Or maybe I'll go kayaking.
