State Tournament Results

Things are definitely wrapping up around here at FRCS and our teams are going out with a bang! Last weekend we had a few tournaments (with a lot of switching and maneuvering and all that goes with it) and those kids did us proud.

Here's the stats:

  • Softball - Girls won TACS Invitational woop woop!
  • Varsity Baseball won TACS State Championship - All Tournament went to Parker Applegate, Tripp Walker, Tyler Gaither and MVP was Mason Alcorn
  • Soccer - won TACS State Championship  - All Tournament was Grace Avery, Anora Golden, Brooke Barnes and MVP was Bryleigh Dempsey

Make sure to congratulate all these talented young people when you see them because it'll be a couple months before team sports gears up for school. You're going to miss it, trust me.

Gala - Here Sooner Than You Think, 5/25

If you haven't gotten your Gala tickets yet, you're going to want to do that pretty quickly. It's always a good idea to be early rather than late - one, you're prepared, and two, you get to let Mrs. Anderson know who you want to sit by. Or you could be stuck at the old people's table and I know you wouldn't want that.

$35 for students and immediate family. $40 for guests.

Thank You From the Teachers

I'm sure there were some bumps in the academic road this year. There were probably times when that teacher just irritated you oh so much (and it might have been mutual, but I wouldn't know for sure) and you probably didn't see eye to eye on absolutely everything.

No one does. Because we're human and humans make mistakes. Big ones and small ones. And part of being human is getting up, going on, and trying to treat others the way you want to be treated. (Remember your mom telling you that when you were growing up? No? Come by the office and I'll explain it.)

All the teachers would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for treating them so special this past week. And thank you for all those things you did for them throughout this past year. It really did end up being pretty good, didn't it?

And while I'm not a teacher, I would like to thank each and every single one of you for always being so kind and patient with me. And for all the things you gave me - the smiles, the cookies, the presents, the candy, and the coffees. I've said it a hundred times but I'm going to say it once more:

Y'all are the best!

Senior Trip to Orlando

Make sure you pray for our Seniors May 15th - 20th as they will embark on their Senior Trip to Orlando. (Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to pray for the chaperones and driver as well, just throwing it out there.)

Just think. This will be the last trip these kids will take altogether as a group. After graduation they'll go their separate ways and make their own paths in this world. One last hurrah with the classmates.

I hope y'all have fun and I'm praying y'all have a great time and God keeps you safe.

K5 Play and Graduation, 5/23 @ 6:00

Don't forget to come to the K5 Play and Graduation the 23rd. Starting at 6 pm, the cutest kids will bring you the cutest play followed by an awards ceremony for the 1st-5th graders. You know, things like, Perfect Attendance, Student of the Year, things like that. So bring your camera - you'll want to document it all!

Blowout Sale

You've seen the tables in front of the Elementary Office. Yes, the ones laden down with spiritwear. We're clearancing everything out to make room for next year's stuff. Make sure you come by and see what's left - you never know what you're going to find. Seriously. Let's get rid of it all.

SALE

Speaking of not knowing what you're going to find. (Yes. That phrase was in the paragraph above. Please tell me you read it.) We will have the very last Lost & Found sale of the year May 22nd-25th. So if you haven't seen it around your house for a bit, it might be on the tables.

Don't Forget...

While we're speaking of the last week of school, if you have medicine in the Elementary or High School offices, please stop by and pick it up to take home over the summer. You can bring it back in August - we'll let you. Unless you're mean to me or Mrs. Anderson. Then we won't.

I'm kidding.

Walkathon Sponsors

So very grateful for everything you all gave towards this year's Walkathon Project - Campus Security. Here's a shoutout to this year's Sponsors:

It felt like it barely even started before it was already over. But, no use crying over the inevitable. School had to restart so right now seems like as good a time as any. So welcome back to the returning students - we missed you. School just isn't the same when y'all aren't here. And welcome to the new students - we cannot wait to make your acquaintance and get to know you better. I hope your week - and your student's week - was excellent. If it wasn't, well, I hope it was mostly good. Of course, there were some kinks along the way and that elementary secretary seemed a little scratchy at times (I'm so very sorry. I hate being scratchy and I am determined t...
