Christmas Project Ends Tomorrow

Tomorrow is the last day to donate toward the FRCS Christmas Project. Remember, we're trying to raise $35,000 to help build a new cabin for Triple S Christian Camp. If you'd like to be a part of this worthy cause, be sure to send your donation with your child to go toward their class goal, or click the above QR code to donate online. (Be sure to write which class we should apply the amount to in the memo section!)

And be sure to join us for a very special Christmas Chapel as we present Triple S with their gift. I promise. It'll make you smile.

Early Dismissal Friday at 11:30

The semester is almost a wrap. Tomorrow it's officially over. Exams will be finished, books and pencils will be tossed into lockers and forgotten, while Christmas parties commence. We want to wish you and your family a wonderful Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year. Oh yea. Please come pick up your child at 11:30 this Friday. We thank you in advance.

See you January 3rd!

Report Cards - January 5th

I know, I know. You can't wait to find out how well you did on your exams. Admit it. You're a grade junkie. And that's all right. But you will have to wait until January 5th.

Kindergarten through 6th grades will receive a paper report card. (Please return the yellow envelope as we will reuse it for the next report card.) 7th through 12th grades will receive an email with a link to their report card.

Good luck!

Re-enrollment...already?!

Yes. It's time to give serious contemplation on where you'd like to send your student next school year. Which means, if you want them to continue to attend here at FRCS, you need to re-enroll as soon as possible.

Filling out those green forms lets us know that you're interested in keeping your student here. But. That will not keep your spot. Please please PLEASE get that form turned in with the registration fee.

Here's the timeline:

  • Preschool enrollment opens January 1st
  • Current school families enrollment begins February 1st
  • Current school families with non-attending siblings enrollment opens February 15th
  • Open Enrollment begins March 1st

Again, let me reiterate that filling out the re-enrollment form does not guarantee you a spot here at FRCS. The registration fee must be paid (via cash or check) in order to keep your spot.

Spirit Week & Homecoming

Remember, the first week back after Christmas vacation will be kind of weird looking so if you visit, don't panic. We have not lost our mind. At least most of us. The spirit week lineup has been decided. Be sure to look at the list and get yourselves ready as we come back in full force to show our school spirit.

Join us for Homecoming Saturday, January 7th at 10 am and get a chance to meet the new Homecoming Queen and her court.

Congratulations Are In Order

When you see Parker Applegate through the halls or at a store or just anywhere, be sure to congratulate him on receiving a full athletic scholarship to Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. Parker, we're super proud of you and we look forward to seeing how God uses you in the upcoming years.

Special Gold Rush Shirt Coming Out Soon

Speaking of basketball, our Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys basketball teams are heading out to West Coast February 2/7-2/10. To help with the cost, we will be having a Gold Rush shirt for only $15 on sale soon. Every purchase goes toward off-setting the cost of their West Coast trip.

Be sure to wear your new Gold Rush shirt to the basketball game January 24th. Added bonus - free candy bars will be given out that night.

101 Random Christmas Facts

  • In 1915, Hallmark introduced their first Christmas card. I think if the founder of Hallmark were still alive today, I do believe he would be thrilled to see what a trendsetter he was.
  • Every year, London receives a tree from Oslo, Norway as a way to say thank you for their help in World War II. I think that would be pretty neat to see, honestly.
  • Speaking of World War II, the Bicycle playing card company made decks of cards for the prisoners of war in Germany. What's so special about that? Not only did it help those prisoners of war play a mean game of Go Fish, when those cards got wet, they revealed hidden escape routes.
  • So you know how that Christmas song goes about all those reindeer? Comet, Cupid, Donner, and Blitzen? I can't remember the rest except for Rudolph, but I find it rather interesting that all those reindeer were probably female as males shed their antlers in winter. Maybe that's how Santa is able to get to all the houses in one night. Females don't have a problem asking for directions. Just kidding.
  • I never considered myself a swooner, but let me tell you. If I had met Bing Crosby back in the day, yea. Swooning might have happened. Wow that man was blessed with a great voice. Did you know that 'White Christmas' is the best-selling Christmas song with over 50 million copies sold around the world? No? You do now.
