Varsity State Tournament Results

Last weekend our Varsity boys were crowned State Champions, woot woot! How exciting is that?! All Tournament was Noah Pence, Judson Bjornstad, and Tripp Walker, and the MVP went to Noah Tidwell.

While our girls gave it a great shot, they came up just a little short, losing in the semi-finals. All Tournament went to Kayte Madison and Gracie Tidwell.

FRCS wants to thank each of you for showing your school spirit and making us all proud of you. You did us proud!

Going, Going, Gone...End of Third Quarter, March 4th

The third quarter is when things start to swoop downhill at a very rapid pace. And by swoop, I'm talking sitting in your red radio flyer at the top of your very hilly street and having your brother push you as hard as he possibly can. (No. It did not end well, but that's because I wasn't prepared. He thought it was awesome, but that's because I think he was always trying to kill me. Yes I more than likely deserved it. I was the younger child, you know. That's what we do.)

Don't be like me. Be prepared. Get your work done. Get the tests done. Get the quizzes and worksheets done. Quit putting this off and just do it. Not sure what you have left? Come in and we will see. Or look on RenWeb. Or talk to your teacher. Any of those are viable options.

You know what's not an option? Not completing your work. That's just ridiculous.

Sportsman's Night, March 19th

State Fine Arts & Spring Break, March 24-April 1

Ok so pay attention because this one always trips you up. I'm just being honest here. I really do think y'all need to read all the words before you call and ask the questions, but that's ok if you don't. I like talking to you.

Spring Break officially begins March 28th and goes through April 1st. Did you catch that? Let me repeat:

  • Spring Break is March 28th - April 1st (which I think is very clever. I mean, look at all the April Fool's jokes we're missing out on. Seems like it's the safe decision, in my opinion.)

And here's for the folks who have looked at their calendar:

  • if your 3rd-12th grader is not participating in State Fine Arts, they are NOT required to be at school on March 24th & 25th.

I really don't know how to explain it better than that. But if you're still confused, it's ok. Give me a call. We will chat. We'll laugh, we may giggle, and hopefully at the end of the conversation, you'll understand.

Spring Cleaning

You know what else I love about spring? That whole spring cleaning thing. I absolutely love throwing open my windows to let fresh air in (and locking my family outside until the entire process is complete) and cleaning my house from top to bottom. It makes me giddy with excitement.

While I understand that not everyone feels the same as I about spring cleaning, we're asking you to please, clean out your lockers, check under your bed at home, peek in your closets, and bring any and all library books back to school before we have to give you a bill to pay for a lost book.

Because no one likes bills. No one.

101 Random

  • Why is it a bad idea to iron a four leaf clover? Because you shouldn't press your luck.
  • How many apples grow on an apple tree? All of them.
  • Why do bees have sticky hair? Because they use a honeycomb.

In Arizona, it is illegal to hunt camels. And any misdemeanors toward camels are forbidden as well. Which prompts my question, where are all the camels? I didn't see even one last time I went there. Is the camel the state mammal and I'm just now finding out about this? How did this even become a thing? Were camels found in Arizona a long time ago or something and they were hunted like wild buffalo? These are questions I'm going to ask when I go to Heaven.

It felt like it barely even started before it was already over. But, no use crying over the inevitable. School had to restart so right now seems like as good a time as any. So welcome back to the returning students - we missed you. School just isn't the same when y'all aren't here. And welcome to the new students - we cannot wait to make your acquaintance and get to know you better. I hope your week - and your student's week - was excellent. If it wasn't, well, I hope it was mostly good. Of course, there were some kinks along the way and that elementary secretary seemed a little scratchy at times (I'm so very sorry. I hate being scratchy and I am determined t...
