Hey, you know what would be fun? It would be awesome if you would join us here at FRCS and cheer for our basketball teams this Friday as they go against Pleasant View. Don't know times? Well, let me help you.

  • Middle School Girls - 4:00
  • Middle School Boys - 5:15
  • Varsity Girls - 6:30
  • Varsity Boys - 8:00

Don't know what you would eat for dinner? Well lucky for you, we've got concessions. So yea. See you there!

District Competition, 2/3-2/4

Ok you TACS State Fine Arts winners, this is for you. Dust off those pencils, go over those notes and highlights, maybe even practice a few more spelling words, 2/3-2/4 is the time for you to shine because District Competition is here.

Let's recap a few things, shall we?

Dress Code

Elementary and Middle School Groups:

  • girls - black skirt, black shoes, and plain white shirt/blouse (no writing)
  • boys - black dress pants, black shoes, white button up shirt
High School Band:
  • girls - black dress (provided by school, aren't we so nice?!), black shoes
  • boys - black dress pants, black shoes, black button up shirt (see the pattern?)
High School Ensemble/Handbells:
  • girls - black dress (again, provided by school), black shoes
  • boys - black suit or black pants, black jacket, black shoes, and white button up shirt
**Bus schedules and details will be sent out soon.**

You've waited so long. You've made sure that your phone has been charged and has enough space to store all those cute little pictures of tomorrow's festivities. You are ready and waiting to come to the school and check out the cutest parade in Rutherford County as our preschoolers through 1st graders strut their stuff in the annual 100 Days of School.

Starts tomorrow at 9 a.m.

Want a good spot? Be here at 8:45. Want the perfect spot? You may want to camp out in drop-off line the night before. Bring hand-warmers. It's supposed to get cold.

Are you feeling, well, not quite right? Have a sore throat? Headache? Cough? Chills, fever, general all-over-yuckiness?

If you, your spouse, or another resident in your home isn't feeling well and you suspect that it could be the new and improved strain of COVID, we ask you to do us a favor.

Please keep your child at home to keep the spread down to the bare minimum here at the school. I know. No one wants to hear the phrase, "hey, your test came back positive," but what we especially don't want to hear? "Hey, your test is positive and you should probably pick up your kids from school."

Besides being too late to stop the spread of COVID here at school, thus creating a not so small problem, you've lost an opportunity to teach your children how to help take care of you. I mean, c'mon. It's their turn!

Things to remember:

  • if a parent or another person residing in the house (not the student) tests positive for COVID, you must keep your child(ren) at home for 5 days
  • if your child(ren) are not showing symptoms and it has been 5 days, they must have a negative COVID test within 24 hours of returning to school. If you do not want to have them tested, they must quarantine for 10 days from the start of symptoms
  • if your child(ren) tests positive, they must quarantine for 10 days from the start of symptoms
Thanks in advance for your help in this matter.

Spring Pictures, 2/7-2/8

Have you noticed that your little third grader isn't looking as well, little? That suddenly he/she looks older? Bigger? Taller?! Well here's your chance to capture that image and save it in your scrapbook or send it out to Grandma and Grandpa so they too can see the change in your little cutie pie.

Spring Pictures will be February 7th and 8th. Although these are fabulous and fun, they are not required. If you started FRCS later than other students and you didn't get your picture taken in the fall, you'll probably want to do this one. But if this doesn't pertain to you, hey. Do it if you wanna and don't if you...don't. There will be a $5 sitting fee (should you order a package, that $5 will go towards the package of your choice.)

Want more details? Have questions? Click this link and be amazed at the amount of information they provide. Enjoy!

101 Random

  • The violet and the primrose are the symbolic flowers of February. How nice is that? Not that I can get a flower to grow, but hey. It's the thought that counts, right?
  • February's birthstone is the amethyst. Now you know. You're welcome.
  • February is one of the most misspelled words in the English language. Huh. I would have thought it would be something like accommodate or something like that. Interesting.
  • Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12th, and Frederick Douglass was born on February 14th.
  • and lastly, February is the official 'Return Shopping Carts to Supermarket' month. So all you people who have two or three of those buggies just taking up space in your garage, you can return them in just a few days.
