Veterans Day Program, 11/12
I will tell you, it is tough on a momma when she watches her child leave for the military. It makes one think of all the wars and conflicts; of all those who went before and didn't make it back home. And it makes her pray for safety, that maybe the Lord would see fit to bring that child back home.
It makes all those Thanksgiving dinners and Christmas get togethers that are in the past a little sweeter while they're away. It makes you stand taller and sing louder when your flag is on display. And it makes you bawl like a baby when they make it back home.
From 9:45 to 10:30(ish) this Friday morning we ask you to join us in the church auditorium as we thank those who are serving or have served in the military. For doing something not everyone could. For fighting for our country - even if they didn't leave American soil.
Because they would have if they had had to.
This is our chance to say thank you and to show them that we're proud of them for doing what we couldn't.
Missions Conference, 11/14-11/17
Exciting times here at FRCS, just going to throw it out there. Where else can you get to meet and talk to real missionaries who are going to other countries to share the Gospel? I mean, where else would you learn that there is a fly in Africa that will burrow inside your skin to lay...oh...sorry. Nevermind. That's probably more than a little disturbing.
But seriously though. I love it when the missionaries come, and I'm guessing you and your family will love to hear them too. Come join us and be revived and reinvigorated to tell others the Good News that Jesus died for everyone this Sunday through Wednesday.
Through the week, missionary families will be getting to know our students Monday through Wednesday starting with High School chapel on Monday with the Matt Cook family. Tuesday will be an exciting day as they will be visiting the elementary classrooms, giving the younger students a chance to ask some very important questions like, is there really ice cream in Africa and is it crunchy? Wednesday rounds out this year's conference with another impactful High School chapel and evening services that will most definitely be a blessing to you. Don't miss it. See you there!
Pictures, 11/15
If you would like a class picture so you can remember everyone in the years to come, maybe even show it to your kids or grandkids in the future, here's your chance. You can pre-order here.
Were you not here for picture day back at the beginning of the year? Did you miss it for some reason? Or maybe you thought it was pajama day and you showed up in your footed pajamas with your hair all twisted about like you had just rolled out of bed and you skipped pictures once you realized what was really happening. Whatever the reason, if you just weren't able to make it or have your pictures taken, here's your second chance. Dress up, slick your hair back or wear that big beautiful bow and prepare to dazzle the camera because this is the one time it really is all about you.
Thanksgiving Luncheon, 11/23
Did you get your tickets yet? If you haven't stopped by the office and purchased your Thanksgiving Luncheon tickets yet, I have good news. Starting TOMORROW you will be able to order your Thanksgiving Luncheon online via RenWeb. (the crowd goes wild...)
Don't delay, I mean for real. Have you not heard that there's probably going to be a shortage out there on turkeys? I am one of those people that like turkey one time a year. Thanksgiving. Seriously. That's it. I am not a fan of the big bird, but I do get a little bent out of shape if someone (ahem, mom? Are you reading this? Because I'm talking about you) even mentions changing tradition in favor of (gasp) ham. (What kind of person does that?! It's unnatural.) I mean, ew. It really messed up my entire year. (Yes feel sorry for me. Thank you. I feel better now.)
Basketball Season is HERE
It's Basketball Season here at FRCS! Do you know who is on the middle school girls basketball team? Can you name all the middle school boys on the boys team? What about the JV or Varsity teams? Do you know all the cheerleaders and their middle names yet? (Ok, if you know all their middle names, that's a little creepy and you probably want to keep that to yourself.)
Well you're not very dedicated, then. Come out and shout, encourage, and cajole our teams Friday, November 19th for their very first game and (hopefully) their very first win of the season. See you there!
November Birthdays
Mr. Kramer -It is not the 5th and it is not the 7th. It's somewhere in between.
