**Elementary Fun Day - May 10th**

You haven't missed it yet. Walkathon is tomorrow, Friday, April 23rd. Haven't turned in your form yet? Still have family members who want to support this cause, but you won't see them until Saturday? Little Bobby missed the 2 hour fun day by that much?

That's ok. You still have time. Turn in your donation form before May 10th and you will still be in the running to receive the awards and incentives.

Incentives? Awards? Wait, what? (It's uncanny how well I can read your mind, isn't it.) Read on.

  • $50 - K3-6th grade - 2 hour fun day; 7-12th grade - 1 day Exam Permit
  • $100 - K3-6th grade - 4 hour fun day May 10th; 7-12th grade - 3 Day Exam Permit

National Fine Arts Results

Roll out the red carpet and clap those hands, because FRCS is proud to announce that Josh Stanczak placed 1st in classical piano (that kid can play. I walk much slower through the halls so I can listen when he's practicing) and the Senior High Handbells placed 2nd in Nationals. We're proud of each and every one of you who participated.

Light at the End of the Tunnel

Do you realize we only have a little over 4 weeks left of school? 4 weeks to make sure that your papers are turned in, that you have completed and turned in all your missing work, that you've swapped your phone number and email with your friends, and studied for those exams looming over you.

4 weeks to rummage through the Lost & Found sale (May 5-7) for that shoe, that lunchbox, or those cleats that you thought you had.

4 weeks until a chapter of your life is complete and it's time to begin a new one. Maybe it's third or fourth or fifth grade. Maybe you're going to Middle School. Maybe, your next move is to go to college. Or not.

Whatever your next step is, make sure that this step, this one right now is completed to the best of your ability. Because you can't come back and do it over. There is only one today.

So make the best of it and finish the year strong. Because if it's a job worth doing, it's worth doing right.

Being inducted into the Honor Society here at FRCS is a big deal. It's not a popularity contest. It's a character contest. If you make it in, you can pretty much pat yourself on the back because that means you made a difference in a positive way. It's our way of congratulating you on being a pretty awesome person and encouraging you to continue in this path. It's not an honor we give to just anyone.

April 26th is the day we've set aside to congratulate you and encourage you. A moment in time that will (hopefully) become a cherished memory as you move forward. Something special that we can give to you because we think you've earned it.

Congratulations. We're proud of you.

It felt like it barely even started before it was already over. But, no use crying over the inevitable. School had to restart so right now seems like as good a time as any. So welcome back to the returning students - we missed you. School just isn't the same when y'all aren't here. And welcome to the new students - we cannot wait to make your acquaintance and get to know you better. I hope your week - and your student's week - was excellent. If it wasn't, well, I hope it was mostly good. Of course, there were some kinks along the way and that elementary secretary seemed a little scratchy at times (I'm so very sorry. I hate being scratchy and I am determined t...
